Everytime Anna is on the hill she works to learn new tricks or perfect the ones she already has. Anna's ski playlist includes Method Man, E-40 and Nas. Anna decided to take this years competition schedual easy and just compete in the annual Queens Cup Open this year. Although the slopes in Utah are coming to a close Anna will continue to grace the slopes and some metal after the season is far from over back in Oregon with all her great friends at Windells at Mt. This girl has a good head on her shoulders and quite the future ahead of her in skiing or any other endevors she decides to take on in the future! I hope to maintain Anna as a friend for years to come!

MODAN Productions

We all found each other in random ways and became friends for one specific reason: we loved the snow. Modan productions started as an idea derived about a year ago from the minds Molly Ellowitz and Dania Assaly. The idea is to create an outlet to display women's skiing. As more of us came together this last year we decided to try and make it happen. Women's skiing today is overlooked and we, a group of friends who are trying to progress the woman's sport of skiing together, want to change that. This is just the beginning of where we want to take this.

The year started out with a bang at Colorado's infamous resorts. Breckenridge and Keystone opened up and we rushed at the opportunity to show off our tricks meet up with old friends, make new ones and share some laughs. The likes of Molly Ellowitz, Dania Assaly, Kim Pickle and Ashley Battersby among others hit up their jibs and embraced the lack or snow just to have some fun and slide some snow. The weekend passed and we gathered again to share stories and attend classes. Finals came and went and the girls could actually get their season started. Dania finished her time at the University of Utah to take some time off to focus on her skiing with the idea to finish up her education up in Canada studying acupuncture after a little rest and relaxation time. The rest of us still have some time to go and lightened our class load or took the time off to get ourselves on the snow. Ashley and Dania were excited to get their season started and train for their upcoming competitions which include X-Games, Dew Tour and France's World Cup. The time had come, Ashley packed her bags to couch surf in Colorado and prepare her runs for the X-Games and Dew Tour. Unfortunately there was quite a turn of events for Ashley, the week before her first competition, the Breckenridge Dew Tour stop she had an unlucky landing and blew her second knee with an ACL tear. We were all crushed to say the least, knowing that she had all the potential to take this year’s competitions by storm, instead she headed back to hang out with the family and get back on her feet. Ashley had surgery on January 6 and is on her way to a speedy recovery but will not be competing this season. On the other spectrum Dania Assaly was blessed with some great opportunities at our good friends despair Angeli Vanlaanen who broke her collarbone while training in the pipe Dania was giving the opportunity to strut her stuff at the Breckenridge Dew Tour in the pipe while Angeli recovered. Dania started off taking 3rd in her first competition of the season and called us with great hopes to make it to the top by the end of the season. After that Dania flew to France to compete in the FIS Freestyle World Cup at Les Contamines she was able to stomp her 9 in the pipe to place 4th in the competition while improving on her French. As Dania graced half pipes around the world Molly Ellowitz, Veronica Kelly, Erica Durtschi, Jordan Modine and Anna Borgman among others reunited in Salt Lake City to take advantage of Park City's park, which put into full swing with the opening of King's Crown Super Park. The girls took on the guys and ripped through Pick and Shovel as well as strutting their stuff on the King’s jumps or in the super-pipe. The Modan adventures are just beginning as all of us head to X-Games to cheer on, and compete hope to see you there keep an eye out for Modan Productions on our girls!
